1. Who we are

This Service is operated by Conglomerate ("we", "us"). We act as the data controller for the personal information described below.

2. Personal data we collect

  • Account data: email address, login credentials, authentication tokens.
  • Content you submit: emotion blocks, WARD entries, Song of the Day links and notes.
  • Subscription data: subscription status, plan, billing period, customer ID returned by our payment provider.
  • Support & correspondence: messages you send us.
  • Technical data: device, browser, IP address, log and usage telemetry needed to operate and secure the Service.

3. How and why we use it

  • To create and operate your account (legal basis: contract).
  • To deliver human-response features (contract).
  • To process subscriptions and prevent fraud (contract, legitimate interests).
  • To secure the Service and debug issues (legitimate interests).
  • To comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).
  • To respond to your support requests (legitimate interests).

4. Who we share data with

  • Service providers / subprocessors: hosting, database, analytics and email infrastructure providers acting on our instructions.
  • Merchant of Record (Paddle.com): for sale of subscriptions, payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, refunds and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers: legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
  • Authorities: where required to comply with law or to protect our rights.

5. International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside South Africa. Where this happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

6. Retention

Data submissions are anonymised and only used for Sound submissions.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law you can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in South Africa, the Information Regulator).

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls and authenticated APIs — to protect personal data.

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
